Description:
KANUGA CONFERENCES INC. Communications Coordinator Kanuga Conferences seeks a full-time Communications Coordinator to provide copywriting, project coordination, e-marketing and social media support to a variety of marketing, public relations and fundraising initiatives. The Communications Coordinator will work closely with the Communications Manager to articulate Kanuga’s brand, to clarify its message and to ensure the consistency of this message in all marketing and fundraising materials and communications. Principle duties and responsibilities: - Work with the Communications Manager to develop short and long-term plans and objectives for Kanuga’s marketing and communications programs and activities.
- Write and edit copy for a variety of print and electronic communications, including press releases, advertisements, newsletters, brochures/flyers and other publications.
- Write and assist in the creation and maintenance of electronic publications including e-newsletters, blogs and other e-marketing projects.
- Assist with oversight of Kanuga’s social media presence; including Facebook, Twitter and other emerging social media channels.
- Keep up with changing Internet/technology/market trends and guide Kanuga in ways of capitalizing on these trends.
- Work with Advancement staff in writing fundraising materials including letters, brochures, and proposals.
- Procure printing and other project cost estimates and keep projects within approved budgets.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations or related field.
- Excellent written, oral and electronic communication skills.Attention to detail; ability to edit and proofread.
- Strong visual sense and ability to articulate ideas to graphic designers to support marketing.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under demanding deadlines.
- Be an imaginative, creative problem solver.
- Trend research and analysis ability.
- Ability to work well with people of all ages and technology skill levels.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Constant Contact or similar tools and software.
- Mastery of social media tools, including Facebook, Twitter and emerging forms of digital communication.
- General knowledge of HTML and CSS platforms helpful.
- Experience with, or willingness to learn, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and/or Illustrator a plus.
- An understanding of and compassion for Kanuga’s ministry and mission.
