Description:

Freelance writers

Do you love reporting on community news and writing feature stories? Do you write clean copy using AP style? If so, the Killeen Daily Herald and its weekly publications are looking for freelance reporters to cover Fort Hood and the Central Texas cities of Killeen, Harker Heights, Copperas Cove and surrounding communities. Must be organized, reliable and able to follow direction.

Professional journalism training and experience is a plus, but if you have a natural knack for newspaper writing, we will work with you. We are looking for local residents. The pay is $25 to $50 per story. Freelancers will be independent contractors with the newspaper.

If interested, send writing samples and a resume to ljames@kdhnews.com. Questions, call Lee at (254) 501-7550.
