Description:

California Apparel News is hiring a full-time, freelance web producer to oversee daily production and maintenance of the publication’s website. We need a detail-oriented production person to work closely with the editorial and sales departments. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with good editorial judgment who can handle multiple deadlines and take direction from several departments. The web producer will work closely with the publisher, executive editor, sales director, production manager and webmaster to ensure the website is consistently current, fresh and engaging.

Responsibilities include:

Upload editorial content, including stories, blogs, art and multimedia
Design, code, track and manage weekly e-mail HTML newsletters
Edit and upload photos for galleries
Oversee and manage website to ensure fresh content throughout the day
Post and track display ads
Manage multiple social media campaigns and email marketing

Qualifications:

Journalism experience and the ability to demonstrate editorial judgment
Strong working knowledge of content management systems
Strong working knowledge of and experience working with HTML, CSS, SEO, FTP, Google Analytics, Dreamweaver and Photoshop
A flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend hours during peak seasons
Ability to write catchy headlines, captions and brief descriptions
