Newspaper & Magazine, Managing Editor

Peninsula Publishing & Distribution seeks a motivated and versatile editor to join our growing, privately-owned publications in Door County, Wisconsin. With our dynamic and small staff, we produce the Peninsula Pulse (, a free newspaper published 37 times a year, and Door County Living, a free magazine published 5 times a year. Both publications serve an audience of over 27,000 local residents, as well as a seasonal tourist population. We are looking for a smart and savvy editor who also possesses strong management skills, newsroom experience, and proficiency with basic office software and social media.

Why You Want This Job:

Come and grow with us. It is an opportunity to shape a truly independent newspaper and magazine, to mold a staff, and do it while sitting in an office overlooking Lake Michigan. What began in 1996 as an 8-page publication has evolved into two publications viewed as the community's trusted, go-to resources for information regarding the news and culture in one of the Midwest's most popular vacation destinations. With lush farm fields and orchards adorned by high bluffs, beaches, and quaint waterside villages, Door County's beauty attracts many visitors and is a place of which its residents are proud. Members of our team have the opportunity not only to participate in this community, but also to break out of the constraints of large corporate journalism. With us, you can gain experience typically acquired over a lifetime spent in the ranks of mass media. We are a different kind of paper and magazine; we’re looking for an editor to participate and grow with our community and lead us forward.
