Description:

The Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram is seeking an outstanding, accomplished reporter to cover local news. We need a talented, curious, motivated reporter who can produce a mix of strong dailies, lively enterprise pieces and compelling narratives – someone who can unearth important stories, break news, employ their database and investigative skills, and use news events as launch pads for blockbuster Page One tales. This reporter will spend far more time with regular people than on the phone with government officials. The ideal candidate is full of ideas, passionate about investigative reporting, adept at writing narratives, comfortable in a digital-first environment, driven by competitiveness, and a believer in multimedia storytelling. If you are the best at what you do and share our zeal for ambitious journalism, this might be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. You will be part of Maine’s finest news organization and live in a region with an extraordinarily high quality of life. Send a sparkling cover letter, resume and several examples of your best work to Assistant to the Editor Kelli Burnham, Portland Press Herald, One City Center, Portland ME 04101 or by email to kburnham@mainetoday.com.
