Description: Energy Intelligence Group, a publisher of an array of international newsletters for the energy industry, is looking for the right candidate to fill a reporting post at its downtown Washington, D.C., bureau. The position requires a combination of reporting and quantitative skills, including the ability to manage pricing data and produce tables and charts from an internal database. Increasing mastery of data responsibilities will allow further opportunity for reporting. Candidates should be as comfortable around numbers as they are around words. A strong interest in energy is a necessity. The reporter position will bear responsibility for the preparation of daily and weekly price surveys and tables. Fluency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access are important as is a basic comfort level with simple graphics in the Microsoft environment. Reporting will focus on North American natural gas, electric power and liquefied natural gas (LNG) trade. This could be an entry level position for a strong candidate, but those with relevant journalism or energy experience are preferred. The reporter will be part of a team of more than 50 energy journalists around the world who write for daily, weekly and monthly publications.
