The Times Herald, a daily newspaper with a circulation of 27,000, is seeking a general assignment reporter to cover a variety of news stories in and around the Port Huron area. The job entails developing, researching and writing compelling stories on deadline for both print and online.

Successful candidate will have a commitment to quality in all aspects; good organization and time management skills; and knowledge and interest in the Internet.  Must be motivated, creative and collaborative; able to take direction but also exhibit a high degree of self management; adept at multitasking; and able to respond quickly to opportunities as they arise. Candidates should have good writing, researching and interviewing skills and a good understanding of proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.  Photography and multimedia experience (video broadcasts, etc.) preferred but not necessary. A minimum of 3 years experience as a writer at a daily paper is required.
