Description:

The National Law Journal, one of the nation’s leading legal publications, seeks a senior-level editor to help oversee our daily digital news coverage and our weekly print edition. This editor will be responsible for developing articles, assigning stories and managing and mentoring a team of editors and reporters in Washington, New York and around the country.

In addition, this editor will play a key role in our continuing evolution from a print-focused to a digital news organization and will work closely with the editor in chief to help develop and implement long-term editorial strategies for the publication. The National Law Journal is part of the ALM family of legal news titles, and the editor will work closely with journalists from our other news brands to coordinate coverage and share resources. As such, excellent communications skills and a proven ability to work across an organization to achieve results are a must.

The successful candidate will have significant editing experience at a newspaper, magazine or online journalism outlet and will be a highly organized newsroom leader who can juggle multiple editorial calendar projects and the daily news. A background in legal news is helpful. More important, however, are editing skills, a willingness to learn and become passionate about the business of law, and a demonstrated commitment to high-quality business journalism.  This position can be located in either the New York office or the Washington, DC office.

ALM places a high value on employees and strives to be an employer of choice. To that end we offer competitive salaries, professional growth opportunities, and a comprehensive selection of benefits that include: medical, dental, vision, 401(K) and life insurance options.

Qualified candidates should submit resume and cover letter with salary requirements to opportunities@alm.com for immediate consideration.  Only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.  No phone calls or agencies please.  ALM is an equal opportunity employer that encourages and values diversity.  M/F/D/V
