Description:

The Anniston Star's sports department is fresh off an APSE Top 10 award. Now we're looking for the sports editor to help deliver our next.

We’re a 20,000-circulation daily covering two SEC colleges, a local FCS school, 30-plus high schools, two NASCAR races per year and a diverse selection of local sports, including renowned outdoor bike trails and the Road Runners Club of America National Championship 5K race.   

The ideal candidate would be able to do a little bit of everything, as no two days are the same. Keys: Daily sports journalism experience, page layout skills (InDesign), digital-first thinking and organizing short- and long-term budgets for an emphasis on local copy.
