Description:

The Times Publishing Company, publisher of the award-winning 50,000 daily circulation Erie Times-News and GoErie.com, immediately seeks a versatile online reporter to help us push our immediacy and interactivity to the next level. This position produces content for the dominant online news and information website in northwestern Pennsylvania; helps to lead to our social media efforts; and works to advance all of the newsroom's digital efforts and goals.

Qualifications:

  • Basic HTML knowledge and general familiarity with Web-based content/publishing/production applications.
  • Experience with video production. Experience with Syndicaster publishing tools desirable.
  • Familiarity with social media and best practices, particularly in fostering engagement.
  • Working knowledge of online database applications.
  • Ability to react to and post breaking news quickly and accurately.
  • Strong organizational and writing skills, as well as the ability to work independently and in collaboration with staff. InCopy/InDesign familiarity a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field and significant journalism experience. Experience in a broadcast/online newsroom a plus.
