Description:

The Reno Gazette-Journal, a Gannett Co., is seeking a highly qualified Continuous Content Reporter. This reporter is expected to thrive and deliver on the news of the day, writing and producing compelling content for our specific audiences for online and print.

The scanner is buzzing with activity. This is the reporter who goes to the scene, with iPhone in hand, ready to tweet and send updates, and then come back to the office and write a well structured story for the next day’s daily print product.  The reporter would have one eye on web sites and the other on Tweet Deck; One ear on the scanner and the other listening for news.

Must be versatile and ready to shift from a police story to a protest to any other news of the day quickly and with ease. This reporter will be responsible for daily production, and be part of the team that ensures RGJ.com has enough locally produced updates, videos and tweets throughout the day.  This is one of two reporting shifts that includes weekend shifts.

Send us your resume, three references, a cover letter, and eight clips, including four breaking stories (each of which were written in less than a day for publication the next day) to kscott@rgj.com

The Reno Gazette-Journal offers an excellent benefits package including 401k, medical, dental and vision, tuition reimbursement and opportunity for advancement, The Reno Gazette-Journal is an equal opportunity employer. Candidates with a diverse background are encouraged to apply.
