Description:

The Gainesville (Fla.) Sun, a daily newspaper in the heart of the Gator Nation, is seeking an experienced higher-education reporter to cover one of the most critical beats in the newsroom. Home to the University of Florida, Gainesville is the prototypical college town whose population is well educated and demanding, and we need a reporter able to hit the ground running in reporting on the advances, trends and discussions affecting this company town. Ideal candidates will have experience in database reporting and be comfortable working with social media and crowd sourcing. As well, we're looking for a reporter able to scrutinize complex subject matters and explain them in easy-to-understand terms.
