Description:

The reporter is responsible for covering classical music and opera news, and writing feature stories and reviews for online and print.

The reporter also would write a blog and cover general assignment stories about the arts as part of our coverage of Charlotte’s innovative and flourishing arts community. Main beats are the Charlotte Symphony (www.charlottesymphony.org) and Opera Carolina (www.operacarolina.org). 

The CSO is expanding its programming and appealing to non-traditional audiences. Christopher Warren-Green is music director and the group is searching for an executive director. Opera Carolina puts on three mainstage productions and this season is staging Jun Kaneko's version of "The Magic Flute." 

A classical music and journalism background is required.
