Description:

Established in 1979, COLE Publishing, Inc. creates eight monthy trade publications tailored around environmental services. Additionally, COLE manages and organizes the largest trade show in North America for this same industry. Located in Three Lakes, Wisconsin, on Townline Lake, COLE offers a unique work environment and casual atmosphere. 

This position requires tremendous attention to detail while maintaining a certain level of flexibility. Must be able to function in a structured, deadline-oriented environment. Ability to prioritize and multitask is a must. Degree in either English or Journalism is preferred, but relative work experience will be considered in place of 4 year degree. Ideal candidate has a BA in Journalism or English and 3-5 years experience as a copy writer, editor or proofer.

Responsibilities Include:

• Help prepare and proofread written material for both print and Internet publishing. A strong understanding of AP style is required.

• Ensure both copy and photos are following appropriate deadlines and will be ready for layout when required.

• Write original copy for Internet publishing to enhance Web traffic and user experience.

• Tag articles with relevant terms/copy to organize for Web CMS.

• Research and interview manufacturers in order to write original and informative marketing/sales/product copy.

• Assist editors, assistant editors and editorial layout team as required.
