Description: When you hear the word Thunderdome do you think of Tina Turner’s hair? Well, admittedly, so do we. But, do you also think about journalism, collaboration, tenacity, creativity, diversity, ambition, quality and agility? If so, we want to hear from you. Digital First Media is seeking a web producer to join the features team at Project Thunderdome in New York City. The producer will report to the features editor and be responsible for working with the technology, health, food, entertainment and travel channel managers to identify content within the Digital First network that can be packaged, edited, produced and syndicated back to the network. It will require occasional night and weekend hours. What is Thunderdome? Watch this 60-second video featuring Digital First Media CEO John Paton explaining the concept and check out our blog as well. Based in New York City, the Thunderdome team will provide content for the more than 800 multi-platform products – including print, web and mobile – for news products produced by both the MediaNews Group and Journal Register Company. We will be working with 75 daily newsrooms and dozens of nondaily news operations in 18 states and managing non-local content efforts across the entire network. Responsibilities In addition to the tasks described above, other needs will surely arise as Thunderdome development continues, so any job candidate must be flexible and willing to adapt to changing conditions on the ground. Requirements & Qualifications Please apply below or email cover letter and resume to mdooner@digitalfirstmedia.com. Applications should include resume, cover letter and portfolio links. Additional Project Thunderdome jobs will be posted over the coming weeks. To learn more about Digital First Media and to learn more about the jobs we are filling, check out our careers site.
