Description:

The Temple Daily Telegram is seeking an experienced, aggressive, full-time reporter to cover Belton, Texas. The successful candidate is a self-starter who knows how to file accurate, timely and interesting stories daily about Belton, which is the county seat of Bell County. Since most of the work will be done out of our Belton bureau office, the ability to generate stories on your own is a must. The beat includes breaking news, city government and features. The candidate should have a knack for story-writing, be able to work with minimum supervision and know AP style. Knowledge of the coverage area and photography skills are helpful. Applicants should send a resume, clips and cover letter to jpainter@tdtnews.com with the subject line "Belton beat."
