Description:

The Tuscaloosa News, winner of the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news reporting and home of the University of Alabama and its championship Crimson Tide football team, is seeking a design editor to help manage the design/copy desk. The ideal candidate would have at least five years of daily newspaper experience with a solid background in design and a knack for visual storytelling and creating compelling presentations. Knowledge of layout software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator a plus. Strong editing skills and management experience preferred. In addition to layout and editing of the daily newspaper, duties would include planning, consulting and coaching on news presentation (special sections, special packages and daily stories) and helping develop prototypes for new products as needed.
