Gain the highest visibility for your work by bringing your visual storytelling talents to the dominant media organization in Central New York and joining our award-winning photography / videography staff. You'll shoot news, sports, entertainment and other stories, posting in real time in a mobile context in which your work goes from camera to multiple digital platforms with little or no editing. We're adding this role as part of an exciting initiative that is redefining digital journalism in Central New York, and we've created a forward-thinking workspace with state-of-the-art tools for nimble digital and mobile journalism, to help you optimize your impact. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:
  • Professional photography and videography experience and demonstrated skills with tools for digital journalism.
  • The ability to shoot in diverse contexts, including news, sports and entertainment.
  • Solid writing skills and the ability to complement your images with interesting captions and short copy.
  • Experience in posting to the web and meta-data tagging.
  • Strong web, video, and multimedia authoring skills and familiarity with emerging technologies.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, and audio and video editing software.
  • Experience building, maintaining and engaging an active audience.
  • Demonstrated reporting, writing and organizational skills.
