Description: Online-digital content producer Produce online and digital content for The Courier and Daily Comet, sister newspapers covering a colorful Cajun community in Houma and Thibodaux, La. You’ll work on various platforms, including websites, smartphones, e-readers and other new and evolving online and digital technologies. Tasks include posting stories and photographs, shooting and editing videos, engaging in social media, producing interactive graphics and designing web pages. You’ll learn new skills as new technologies come online and evolve. Become an active part of a fun and aggressive newsroom an hour west of New Orleans. The Courier, circulation 14,000, has earned Newspaper of the Year honors from the Louisiana Press Association for most of the past decade. The Daily Comet, at 9,000 circulation, has also been recognized for its quality journalism. We’re looking for someone with skills in website content-management systems, HTML coding, JavaScript, Photoshop, Flash and CSS, video shooting and editing and basic computer use. Valid driver’s license required. Four-year college degree preferred.
