The position we have open is for a part-time beat reporter/editorial assistant at our Manasquan office. The job entails covering all aspects of local news in the town the successful candidate would be assigned to cover. This includes police, school and municipal news. It is not unlikely that one day you may be covering a school play in the morning, and attending a trial in the afternoon. We cover all aspects of the news in our communities, and shy away from nothing. The job also requires reporters to attend night municipal meetings, including council, board of education and planning board meetings. These are usually held on Monday, Tuesday and/or Wednesday evenings. Reporters are also required to cover one eight hour shift on a Saturday or Sunday, once every eight weeks. The position also requires the successful applicant to enter obituaries, letters to the editor, weddings and engagements into our system in a timely and efficient manner.
