amNewYork is seeking an experienced, relentless reporter who can write clear, accurate, well-crafted news and feature stories on deadline that are tailored to a New York City audience.

Other responsibilities include brainstorming and writing in-depth features, investigative reports and analytical pieces. Make arrangements for photos and other supplemental publication material. Participate and contribute to amNY.com's blogs sections online. Must be available to work Sunday through Thursday schedule Noon to- 8:00pm.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Three to four years experience working at a daily newspaper or wire service covering hard news.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Ability to break news, cultivate sources and generate sharp stories ideas.
• Familiarity with New York City.
• A bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field.
• Ability to use and understand a broad base of information systems, including news wires, data banks of governmental agencies and private organizations, and various other research materials.
• Available to work a Sunday through Thursday work week with extended hours as required covering breaking news and meeting daily deadlines.

Experience covering New York City transit a big plus.
