The position we have open is for a full-time beat reporter at either our Manasquan or Point Pleasant Beach office. The job entails covering all aspects of local news in the two as yet-to-be-determined towns the successful candidate would be assigned. This includes police, school and municipal news. It is not unlikely that one day you may be covering a school play in the morning, and attending a trial in the afternoon. We cover all aspects of the news in our communities, and shy away from nothing. The job also requires reporters to attend night municipal meetings, including council, board of education and planning board meetings. These are usually held on Monday, Tuesday and/or Wednesday evenings. On a rare occasion, there is a meeting on a Thursday evening, and there are never meetings on a Friday evening.
