Description:

Copy Editor

Times-News / Twin Falls, Idaho

Wanted: One copy editor who can whip up graphics and maps, read copy, write headlines and design pages on a universal desk.
But you'll need to do more than that. You'll need to create visual stories that can be read in two seconds. You'll need to understand people are attracted to small things, like the closing of a theater curtain, the pause in a musical score, the darkness between the fireflies. You'll need to create a masterpiece.

If you're up for it, we have your canvas.  The Times-News in Twin Falls, Idaho, is searching for a creative copy editor who can do it all. Come work at a place where the higher ups believe great design leads to better sales. We have a managing editor actively making changes to inspire creativity and a staff full of award-winning designers ready to prioritize above-the-fold action proven to drive circulation.

We're regularly featured on industry websites like newseum.organd newspagedesigner.org. Last month, we put together a front page so compelling, the L.A. Times wrote an article about it. We take pride in being a small newspaper with big goals, and we want your ideas and creativity to help us achieve them.  Beyond all that, you'll live in an expanding, family-friendly, affordable town not far from Boise and Salt Lake City. If you're the outdoors type, there's plenty of hot springs, hiking trails, fishing and ski slopes just a short drive away.

The Times-News is a 17,500-circulation daily newspaper (21,500 on Sundays) owned by Lee Enterprises. It offers a competitive salary, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits, vacation, sick, holiday pay and 401K-retirement plan.
