Description:

This editor will work a late afternoon/night shift that focuses in large part on ensuring OrlandoSentinel.com’s digital report remains up-to-date and robust throughout the evening. The editor will monitor breaking local, state and national news; edit stories; write stories; supervise reporters working late shifts; blog when needed; and ensure that news is posted quickly and updated as needed throughout the night. This editor will know how to obtain and process both photos and videos for presentation on the web. This editor will work closely with the digital staff at night. For print, this editor will direct local newsgathering efforts at night and will participate in decisions (including those made at the 3:30 news meeting) about story presentation and placement. This editor also will assume editing responsibilities for late-breaking stories being reported and written by dayside reporters. This editor’s shift will be approximately 2:30-11:30 p.m., Tuesday-Friday, and will include a noon-9 p.m. Saturday shift.
