Description:

The Trussville (Ala.) Tribune is a weekly community newspaper covering the fast growing communities of Trussville, Clay and Pinson. Don't be fooled by the weekly printing schedule, as The Tribune offers a phenomenal online presence for breaking and up-to-the-minute news, sports and events. We routinely compete with the larger daily papers and we are looking for a managing editor who is up to the challenge.

You must be willing to wear several hats. The ideal candidate will have a high energy level with experience in local news, crime, sports and events. Strong AP Style editing skills is a must. In addition to covering much of the local news personally, we are seeking a managing editor who can organize and assign stories to freelance writers and work with advertising representatives as well as the layout editor to prepare the newspaper for print each week. The managing editor will also post stories to www.trussvilletribune.com on a daily basis.

Minimum 1-3 years experience in news reporting and/or editing experience with an appropriate educational background is required. Please send resume, cover letter and 5-7 recent clips to Publisher Scott Buttram at scott.buttram@trussvilletribune.com. No phone calls, please. EOE.
