Description:

Law Week Colorado, a Denver-area newspaper, is seeking a feature and news reporter for its weekly publication. This reporter will be responsible for researching, reporting and writing multiple weekly stories that cover a wide range of news, including politics, government and law. This reporter will follow up on news leads; generate and execute story ideas; and develop new concepts for the publication’s audience.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a drive to produce quality, informative copy in a fast-paced, high-energy newsroom. The perfect candidate will also be ready to dive into our approach to news, which includes contributing content to both our website and print publications. 

Law Week Colorado is part of a Circuit Media, a young company that is focused on building a team environment. Circuit Media also creates other legal and political products including State Bill Colorado.

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in journalism.  A minimum of three years of newsroom experience or equivalent, such as in online publications, is required. Demonstrated understanding of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and Associated Press style is essential.  Familiarity with libel, privacy, open meetings and other laws related to news will be helpful.  Proficiency in computer skills beyond basic keyboarding is required, including experience in MS Office, and web publishing tools.

Salary depends on experience. Circuit Media will not pay for relocation expenses.
