Description:

Copy editor/Sports:35,000 daily McClatchy newspaper on California's Central Coast seeks a full-time copy editor on the sports desk. Successful applicant will have at least one year’s experience at a daily newspaper, strong editing skills and the ability to write accurate, inviting headlines. In addition, applicants must be able to lay out news pages in Quark, have good design skills and knowledge of AP style. Good sports knowledge is a must.

Copy editors are also responsible for posting edited content to the paper’s website.  Position will include night and weekend work, and includes reporting opportunities. A general shift is from 2:30 to 11:30 p.m.
