SUMMER 2014 INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Japanese TV

Fuji Television, Japan’s largest commercial television network, through its US subsidiary, FujiSankei Communications International seeks an intern to assist with daily news coverage in our Washington, DC bureau.

The successful intern in our office will have a keen interest in international relations, US-Japan relations, the domestic politics of both the United States and Japan, and Japanese culture.   Japanese language skills are not necessary, but preferred.  In addition, we seek a bright, forward-thinking individual who is able to work effectively under deadline, can digest significant amounts of information quickly, and works well with others.

Main duties:  Assist reporters and producers in our DC bureau to cover daily briefings of various US Government agencies including the White House, State Department, Department of Defense, congressional hearings, and various think tank events, tracking and researching relevant stories, preparing memos on various news stories, and transmitting video footage to our Tokyo Headquarters.

Although there is no opportunity for on-camera work, the successful candidate will gain a thorough understanding of the broadcast journalism industry.

This is an unpaid internship. We are currently seeking to fill the position for Summer 2014, with the possibility of extension.  We offer university credit to applicants who demonstrate how this internship relates to their course of study.
