Company: GALO Magazine
Position:
Seeking TV and Movie Contributors/Volunteers/Interns for GALO Magazine
Location:
New York
Job Status:  Part-time
Ad Expires:
October 27, 2014
Job ID: 1264283

Description:

GALO Magazine, a digital arts, entertainment and culture magazine, is looking for contributors and interns who are not only passionate and creative, but would potentially be able to deliver 1 or 2 pieces a week.

These positions would be unpaid for now; however, contributors would have a chance to have their work published online/digitally. Some interns might be able to receive school credit (this needs to be discussed with the university). I would also be providing contributors with their own byline/author biography, a place on the Masthead, and press passes/credentials to exclusive events, festivals, etc. (not to mention all the unique interview opportunities!). Currently, the position is a work from home one; therefore, there is no need to worry about morning commute or being based in New York City! However, a working computer and a reliable internet connection are a must.

Movie & TV Contributors

  • We are looking for several film and TV writers to write reviews, features and conduct interviews for Q&A pieces with both renowned and lesser known film directors, actors, screenwriters and others involved in the film/TV industry. Half the time, stories will be assigned; however, we do accept pitches from our writers and encourage them. There will be opportunities to attend film festivals and film screenings if you are located in a major city (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc.). We are seeking three writers based in the NYC area and two in L.A., but are also looking for writers based elsewhere in the States as well as internationally who could conduct interviews. Those accepted would be asked to begin work immediately.

I will provide more information about the position if you are accepted, inclusive of various story lengths, deadlines and guidelines.

Though I do prefer those with a minimum of 1-2 years of journalism experience, I will consider those who are just starting out. College students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

I ask that you proceed only if you have a serious interest and feel this platform will be a good fit for your goals and endeavors.

If this piques your interest, please send the following to contribute@galomagazine.com :
