Description:

The Rio Grande SUN, a 12,000 paid circulation weekly in Northern New Mexico, seeks to fill two reporter positions. Our city beat offers an energetic investigator with strong writing skills the opportunity to follow exciting politics associated with a disfunctional city council, a municipal judge sanctioned by the state supreme court and a budget that changes almost monthly. Our public school system faces a $1.4 million shortfall next school year because of a huge exodus of students to new charter schools. We’ve had seven superintendents in five years. A great place to write news, if that’s what you want to do. Please no feature writers. Several large pay raises would come quickly in the first year to a performing person who wants to write news the way it was taught 20 years ago. Good compensation package including health, vacation, sick and profit-sharing plan. Please submit resume to Robert Trapp at mnged@riograndesun.com
