Description: Our young and growing New York-based business magazine is looking for freelance writers to help us create clean, to-the-point, engaging copy on an ongoing basis. We need writers for news briefs, business profiles and—depending on the quality of your work—feature stories. The right candidate will be reliable, proactive, creative and attentive to detail. An excellent grasp of grammar is absolutely mandatory, and previous experience with AP style is preferred. This position entails a steady stream of business profile assignments, and we are unlike other publications in that we conduct the interviews here in office. This means that your job will be light on research, and your time will be focused on doing what you do best: writing. If you're quick, this could mean a steady, heavy volume of work. This position is perfect for young and energetic writers who are looking for a chance to get their bylines in print. Pay ranges from $.08 to $.15 per word, depending on experience some feature articles will merit $.20 a word. And as we grow, we look forward to raising our pay rates even more. Applicants should respond with a cover letter, a resume, and several diverse writing samples. Freelancers are responsible for their own invoicing. This is a telecommuting position; it is not necessary that you reside in the New York area. Email your application to: editorialdept@thesuitmagazine.com
