Description:

The Darien News, an award-winning weekly in Fairfield County, Conn., seeks a tireless reporter to deliver top-notch local coverage to our community of 20,000 residents. As the sole reporter, you will cover features and hard news, and you must be able to switch gears at a moment’s notice. We need a clean writer who will pitch unique enterprise stories and who isn't afraid to tackle in-depth packages.

Ideal candidates will be proactive reporters who will become part of the community and who understand the "web first" mentality. Must be hardworking, motivated and able to write stories beyond meeting coverage and profiles. Some night and weekend work required; applicants can't be afraid of working long hours.

Perfect for recent grads looking to start their careers. Internship experience preferred. Multi-media knowledge a must.

The Darien News, part of the Hearst Connecticut Media Group, is one of seven weeklies and four dailies in Fairfield County. Please send cover letter, resume and clips to Editor Ashley Varese at avarese@bcnnew.com. No phone calls please.
