VICE PRESIDENT OF ADVERTISING LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER (McClatchy News) Overall responsibility for the planning and execution of marketing strategies designed to promote the profitable growth of print and online advertising revenues. Manages and directs the people, customer relations, policies, procedures and physical resources for the advertising department. Responsible for management of revenue and expenses related to meeting departmental and company objectives. Should possess good marketing skills, excel in public relations, have good people skills and be able to analyze complex market data. The ability to effectively produce strategies and obtain results for the growth of digital, print, direct marketing and advertising revenues are vital. Must be a self-starter, able to anticipate data needs, set research objectives, plan and follow-through on research projects. Must be creative, self-reliant and energetic. Position requires a large capacity for volume, accuracy, thoroughness, complex analysis, good business sense and judgment. 5 – 10 years newspaper advertising experience required. Located in the heart of beautiful Bluegrass Country, Lexington, KY is the major financial, educational, cultural, medical and retail hub for all of Central and Eastern Kentucky plus being the home of the University of Kentucky.
