Managing IP is seeking a reporter to cover intellectual property in the Americas, including patents, trademarks and copyright, working as part of a small team with opportunities for advancement.


The reporter will be responsible for producing two stories per day for the website, as well as longer stories for the print magazine. Areas to be covered include: litigation in District, Federal and Supreme Courts; trends at the US Patent and Trademark Office; and practical strategies for in-house counsel dealing with IP issues.


The position requires strong source-development skills and the ability to provide consistent breaking news and analysis. The reporter will be expected not just to report on the facts, but to dig deeper into what is driving them and identify trends. The role includes the possibility of travel.


 Social media and data skills are a plus. A law background is not required. Recent college graduates welcome to apply.
