Salary:  Not Specified

The Daily Republic, a six-day daily newspaper in Mitchell, S.D., is seeking an energetic sports lover to report, design pages, shoot photos and manage web content as part of our three-member sports staff.

The Daily Republic has a print circulation of about 10,000 copies and reaches about 70,000 people monthly at At this year's state newspaper convention, The Daily Republic won Best Website among all South Dakota dailies and a fifth consecutive General Excellence award in the small dailies circulation division.

Sports coverage opportunities include about 35 high schools in our area, one NAIA university in Mitchell, lots of summertime Legion and amateur baseball, an annual professional rodeo, and three local/area natives playing in professional leagues (Mike Miller of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chad Greenway of the Minnesota Vikings and Riley Reiff of the Detroit Lions).

To apply, send a cover letter, resume and work samples to Sports Editor Brooke Cersosimo at Only the applicants chosen for interviews will be contacted.
