The successful candidate will be intellectually curious, a quick-thinker, be able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines. Our ideal reporter knows how to jump on breaking news for both print and digital platforms while also juggling planned stories and long-term enterprise projects. This person also is persistent and skilled at working sources to uncover stories that matter to our readers.

Energetic and reliable with an insatiable appetite for news are traits we’re seeking for our news team.  As a reporter for a community newspaper, it’s important that the applicant be willing to be a part of the community.

If you would cover breaking news on your wedding day in your gown or tux, (LINK) we definitely want to talk to you.

At least two years of experience in the news industry recommended, but not required. We will consider recent journalism graduates who have completed an internship at another daily or weekly newspaper, with strong writing samples.
