Can you juggle seven balls in the air? What if they're all thrown at you at the exact same time? C-VILLE Weekly, Charlottesville’s community weekly newspaper since 1989, is seeking a magazine editor adept at circus work (aka overseeing multiple quarterly, biannual and annual publications on varying production schedules), from conceptualizing ideas and making assignments to writing stories and editing freelancers' work.

• Overseeing seven publications of various topics (home and garden, food, weddings, tourism, recreation, business).

• Assigning, writing and editing stories.

• Proofing pages during the production process.

• Working closely with the art director to plan the visual components of each issue.

• Leading monthly "special issues" in the newspaper, from the Youth Issue to the Food & Drink issue.

• Coordinating web and social media posts.

• 5+ years working in editorial publishing.

• Crazy good organizational skills and attention to detail.

• A writing style that is creative, approachable and entertaining to read.

• A curious mind that runs overtime to turn Facebook conversations into story ideas.

• A wide array of interests and a thoughtful approach to coverage.

• Ability to work independently and manage time well.

This town has more than its fair share of outstanding restaurants, retailers and services, which is why, 20 years ago, we decided to create an annual issue that pays tribute to the best of the best. Today, Charlottesville residents make their voices heard loud and clear as they nominate and vote for every single one of the area's 130-plus winners.

In this magazine, you'll find everything from a stack of pancakes to a plate of filet mignon. In other words, when it comes to area eats, we let our cravings guide us to excellence at every price point. Knife & Fork introduces readers to chefs, food trends, recipes and, most importantly, the best meals around.

There's no doubt Charlottesville is a beautiful place to get married, and C-VILLE Weddings serves as our readers' secret weapon to planning their big day in the area. Organized as a month-by-month to-do list, it helps couples tackle tasks both big and small, from finding a venue and flowers to tasting the cake and saying, “I do.”

For more than 10 years, Abode has given readers an inside look at the grandest spaces in our area, from historic estates to modern landscapes. Each quarterly issue features the work of top architects, builders and designers, and provides readers with advice from experts on making their dream home a reality.

Running, hiking, cycling, swimming: This biannual guide to getting outdoors covers all the best activities in our area—and then some. It highlights recreation, to be sure, but also kids’ summer camps, outdoor concerts, day trips to amusements parks. If it happens outside, we’re there

What does Charlottesville’s business landscape look like? That’s the question we’re answering in every quarterly issue of C-BIZ, with insight from the local corporations to the mom-and-pop shops. Spanning topics of tech, development, hospitality, retail and more, this quarterly magazine is following the money.

This annual contest celebrates local makers, creators, hand-crafters and innovators, from edibles (think handmade chocolates, granola and spaghetti sauce) to wearables (like earrings, hand-dyed scarves and leather clutch purses)—and everything in between.

Interested candidates should send a cover letter, résumé, three to five clips and a link to your Pinterest page or Instagram account to Editor-in-Chief Jessica Luck: editor@c-ville.com.

No phone calls, please.

Benefits include health and dental insurance, gym reimbursement and parking. Salary is commensurate with experience.
