The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is seeking an Assistant Director of Multimedia to manage the staff that produces multimedia -- including photography, video and podcasts for the newsroom.
The successful candidate will be a highly organized and passionate advocate of all forms of multimedia storytelling. The assistant multimedia director will manage the daily assignments for the photo/video staff and oversee the daily production in conjunction with the multimedia director.
This candidate must possess skills across all platforms for visual storytelling and decide what’s the best way to tell the story.
The candidate will have a strong visual background and management skills to supervise a veteran, award-winning team of visual journalists. Collaboration, communication, planning and attention to details are key essential skills.
Candidates should have at least five years of producing various forms of multimedia as well as experience working in a supervisory role as a journalist.
