Description

OUR COMPANY

10 Missions Media is a youthful, fast-paced and quickly growing print and digital media company, producing established, industry-leading national business publications (FenderBender, Ratchet+Wrench, and Fixed Ops Business), as well as live events, podcasts, videos and webinars. Located in the Hamline Midway neighborhood of St. Paul, our modern workspace (located on public bus routes and near the Green Line) encourages collaboration and personal development among our tight-knit team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented and motivated journalist to join our award-winning editorial team and assist in producing three publications serving a monthly print audience of roughly 200,000 business owners and operators nationwide.

Though our publications serve readers in the automotive industry, this position does not require any automotive or technical knowledge. Our content focuses on business-building strategies and core leadership philosophies. These are true business magazines; our niche just happens to be automotive. If you’re an aggressive journalist who is eager to learn about a new industry and make a real difference in the lives of readers, this job is for you.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Experience in business journalism, including qualified internships at business publications
  • A B.A. in journalism, English, business or a related field
  • The ability to self-direct, work both independently and as part of a team, and meet deadlines

The staff writer will:

  • Stay on top of industry issues and trends
  • Concept, report and write stories for print and online, following AP style and meeting firm deadlines
  • Build a source list of industry contacts to be mined for story ideas and expert commentary

Please send a cover letter, resume and three examples of your work  to editorial director Bryce Evans at bevans@10missions.com.
