The Real Deal, the largest news outlet for the real estate industry in the country, is looking for an editorial intern to join our team in Manhattan. With over 2.5 million web visits a month, and a readership of more than 150,000 for our print publications, TheRealDeal.com is the go-to news source for the city’s top real estate, finance, architecture and investment professionals. Our award-winning coverage includes breaking news, investigative stories, market reports and long-form narrative profiles and trend pieces.
This is the biggest and most dynamic real estate market in the world, with a rich cast of characters that are great fodder for storytelling. The ideal candidate will have an interest in covering money and power and a keen interest in learning about how the industry brings together elements of politics, business, law, and urban planning.
The position requires clean, colorful writing; a nose for a good news hook; and research skills.
Interns at The Real Deal are not coffee fetchers: they provide research for big stories, break news and write in-depth features for the website and monthly magazine.
We're looking for someone to dedicate about 20 hours a week. There's a monthly stipend and the potential to join a growing, award-winning newsroom.
Applicants should be journalism majors or recent grads, demonstrate strong news judgment, and be able to turn in clean copy on a deadline. Please send a cover letter, resume and clips/links to firstname.lastname@example.org
