Be a reporter in a story-rich area for a company that believes in the future of community print journalism.
The Facts newspaper, a 14,000-circulation daily that is a perennial Newspaper of the Year winner in its circulation class, is seeking a top-notch reporter to round out its small but talented staff. This beat assignment will cover cities in a history-rich part of Texas, and we expect our reporters to make officials uneasy and dig out stories instead of waiting for them to be handed out at government meetings. Our staff also contributes newspaper enterprise features and long-form stories to our stable of glossy magazines focused on lifestyles, industry and health.
Recent college graduates will be considered, as will reporters with experience at a weekly, semi-weekly or other daily newspapers. This position has an opportunity for advancement.
ABOUT US: We are minutes from Gulf of Mexico beaches and less than an hour's drive to big-city attractions in Houston and tourist traps in Galveston. We offer competitive pay and benefits, plus focus on developing reporters' strengths. Our coverage area is in the midst of an almost $30 billion economic boom and growing rapidly, with plenty of opportunities for recreation and a vibrant local arts community.
