Advocate Online Media produces four award-winning glossy magazines, along with companion web and social media sites, read by more than 500,000 people monthly. We need a conscientious, career-minded designer capable of following through on her/his own ideas with a dynamic, fresh design style.
This is a pioneering opportunity for a skilled designer to create her/his own job, with support from our senior design team. You must be ambitious and capable of shifting gears at a moment's notice, and you must be able to work with us to develop your own editorial design strategy. And if you're brilliant with video and social, we really need you.
If you're enthusiastic about design and story-telling, and if you're a visionary who has the ability to tell those stories through design, this job is for you. Ideally, you've been a designer for a couple of editorial-oriented shops, but maybe you're a talented designer who wants to move from corporate collateral to meaningful editorial design. Maybe you're doing OK where you are, but know you can be better if you're given a chance to do things the right way without being micro-managed.
