Assistant News Producer Internship

This is an unpaid internship but we can support an application for academic credit.

Department:  TV News Division of Washington, DC Bureau


Title: Assistant News Producer


Overview: Interns are located in the network’s Washington, DC bureau and will be involved in researching international news, US politics, the international relations between US and various Asian countries, and the international economy. In addition to gathering, organizing, and updating data, interns will help develop content for broadcast and our news website.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but may not be limited to:


·        Researching international news, US politics, international relations, and the international economy for the network’s news programs and news website.


·        Assisting reporters and producers by researching and updating information from the US government, US Senate and House of Representatives, Japanese Embassy, think tanks, the National Archives, libraries, and universities.


·        Creating and designing computer presentations for broadcast on TV and website programs to explain visually the latest news development.


Additional Opportunities:


·        Interns will have the opportunity to participate in and learn how to gather information and produce segments for broadcast on TV.


·        Interns will have the opportunity to participate in press conferences, interviews with government officials, members of the US Congress, diplomats, and academic experts.
