Slip on your summer flip-flops and grab your notebook.

Delmarva Now is seeking a news reporter focusing on the beaches in Sussex County, Delaware. This agriculture-focused county has a steadily growing tourism market in Rehoboth and Bethany beaches.

Watchdog and enterprise journalism drive this beat. As part of the USA Today Network, your breaking news and in-depth coverage would find a wide regional and national audience. Daily stories, reporter-generated video and cross-training on beats and skillsets are part of the job since we are a small newsroom. Special projects will push reporters beyond routine daily journalism.

You’ll have advanced analytics tools to shape your reporting to what resonates with the community. Additional training is available to all staffers through The Poynter Institute and the support of editors who know our communities.

This job is based in our Bethany Beach, Delaware, office, which coordinates coverage with our Salisbury, Maryland, office. Bethany Beach is located 20 minutes south of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Delaware Beaches offer an opportunity to work on your tan, shop tax-free at the outlets and enjoy great food and drink.

Nearby Ocean City, Maryland, features 10 miles of free beach and a 3-mile boardwalk.

The Delmarva Peninsula offers plenty of national and state parks to explore. Day-trippers can visit Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia.
