The Forsyth County News, a thrice-weekly newspaper based in Cumming, Ga, is seeking a full-time reporter to cover high school and college sports.

Forsyth County currently has five public schools – with a sixth set to open in the fall – and three smaller private schools, as well as many county alums competing in college. The county’s high school teams have been highly successful in recent years: Lambert High School won five state championships in the 2016-17 school year, finishing at the top of both the boys and girls standings in the Regions Directors Cup, and Forsyth Central’s Ethan Hankins will likely be picked in the first round of this year’s MLB Draft. South Forsyth alum Chris Rowley made his MLB debut for the Toronto Blue Jays last summer, and North Forsyth alum Colby Gossett was recently selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL Draft. Forsyth County is one of the fastest-growing and most affluent counties in the country, with a high standard of living and ample opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Applicants will preferably have experience in both news and feature writing, as well as training in multimedia journalism and comfort using social media. Those interested need to include a short introduction, a resume, and three or more writing samples.
