The Advocate is seeking a versatile digital content editor for its Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Acadiana markets.

Capital City Press, dba The Advocate, is a locally owned company that operates three 7-day-a-week newspapers, including their surging digital properties.

As a digital content editor, you’ll be responsible for making our digital properties the best news outlets in each market. That means you help each entity be first in breaking news situations and publish the best headlines, stories, photo galleries, interactive graphics, etc., in their respective markets.

A successful candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:  Successful candidates will be organized, motivated, work well in a “need-it-now” environment while being fast and detail-orientated at the same time and must be comfortable handling a variety of topics such as sports, crime, local/state/national government and politics and entertainment. Will stand out as one who can bring new ways of thinking about composing and delivering news.  Must have a working knowledge of web CMS/blog systems such as Wordpress, analytics systems such as Parsely/Chartbeat/Google Analytics, newsletter services such as ConstantContact, push notification platforms like Urban Airship and social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.

This position may include nighttime and weekend work.
