The Estes Park Trail-Gazette is looking for a full-time general assignment reporter to cover multiple beats, including but not limited to: town government and organizations, the school district, breaking news, cops and courts, as well as some sports and recreation. Estes Park, Colo. is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the most popular national parks in the country. The Trail-Gazette is the paper of record for the Estes Valley, and comes out twice a week. The general assignment reporter will be able to cover everything from hyper-local issues like the latest Town Board meeting to national stories like changes inside RMNP. This is a great position for a new graduate and someone who loves the outdoors or wants to contribute right away. 

The desired candidate will have a bachelor's degree in journalism/communication and/or two years relevant experience at a newspaper. Candidates must be well-versed in AP style, able to take their own photos and have the ability to take, edit and produce video packages. Candidates should expect to write 10-15 stories per week, take photos and videos, post daily on the Trail-Gazette website and on social media.
