WhoWhatWhy is seeking a freelancer with experience covering election integrity issues (voter suppression, gerrymandering, voting technology security, money in politics, etc.). You will produce at least one story per week on this beat.

  • Proven experience as a political reporter
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
  • An insatiable appetite for election integrity news
  • A healthy dose of skepticism toward mainstream coverage of current events
  • Excellent writing and communication skills


  • Write at once one story per week on election integrity issues
  • Contribute regularly to our election integrity feed
  • Interview experts and conduct in-depth research on the beat
  • Develop original, thought-provoking story ideas in the following areas: voter suppression, gerrymandering, voting technology security, money in politics
