Hummingbird is a new OTT streaming service launching in Q2 2018. The service will carry both linear and VOD channel content from the SBG portfolio and third-party vendor channels. It will cater to a broad audience demographic with a focus on localized programming output and be available across the USA. Project Habit will launch across the main OTT platforms including Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, iOS, Android and websites.

The Director of Digital Products reports to Hummingbird’s General Manager and is the lead executive for the development of the service’s branded Apps and website.

The role will be based in Los Angeles and work in close collaboration with Sinclair Digital Solutions and technology teams in Seattle.

This position requires a thorough understanding of the OTT video ecosystem and emerging digital technologies. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with the network of SBG stakeholders on a regular basis. Direct experience in the launch and ongoing development of a OTT video product is required.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with other Sinclair Digital Solution product managers to deliver cross-platform features and capabilities.
  • Work with both SBG content sources and third-party content partners to facilitate technical content acquisition and delivery to the preferred end points.
  • Serve as the functional point of contact between internal stakeholders to resolve project-related issues.
  • Work with the QA team to develop and manage product delivery time lines and ensure product delivery is as expected.
  • Analyze product performance and customer feedback. Prioritize bug fixes and new features that respond to customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Identify and actively monitor KPIs to measure the success of products.
  • Iterate continuously on feature and functional enhancements and opportunistic deployments.

Job qualifications include:

  • A minimum of an undergraduate degree. ?
  • 5+ years of experience in the digital video or OTT content space
  • Excellent knowledge of the social web, video platforms and social communication tools. ?
  • Excellent experience with digital content management systems, digital workflows, subscriptions, google analytics and data.
  • A deep understanding of how to organize and ?manage content ingestion and editorial / scheduling?
  • Direct experience in launching and developing new OTT products.
  • A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of fast developing trends in the digital video and OTT space in general. ?
  • Solid experience of video editing software and processes. ?
