Join Bing News as an Assistant Digital Content Strategist

We seek a content strategy and publisher engagement associate with a journalism background to develop innovative online news products. 

Bing News is a critical part of Bing, Microsoft’s search engine that retrieves the most relevant results for users from hundreds of billions of documents in milliseconds. Bing News provides news search and recommendation services to end users as well as strategic partners inside and outside of Microsoft.

• Work with the user research team to provide product and customer insights, and conduct competitive analysis 
• Define content strategy and engage with publishers for content evaluation and acquisition
• Conduct product design review and provide editorial feedback to improve online news products
• Apply your knowledge of news, culture, and trends to make daily content programming decisions swiftly
• Work with engineers, designers, and marketing teams to ship products
• Leverage analytics to continuously optimize products and grow the number of monthly active users 

The successful candidate should have at least two years of experience in an online news publishing environment.


• Excellent writing and editing skills, including headline writing
• Exceptional news judgment across multiple disciplines
? Experience in producing headlines on an online news site 
• Knowledge of current online news industry standards, techniques, trends and platforms
• Ability to distinguish market trends and sound industry practices
• Ability to understand technology and work with multiple work streams 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with both external publishers and internal partners.
• Familiarity with content management systems, blogging platforms, photo editing, and online analytics tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or Computer Science

• Work hours may be part time or full time with a flexible work schedule
• Preferred location someone in the greater Puget Sound area able to work remotely most days, with in-office Bellevue meetings once a week
• This is a vendor position serving Microsoft via Wicresoft US
